My not so dead series

I started reading the series through a co-worker who can't seem to put the book down because of her common traits with the heroine. They both love shoes, and because she sensed that I love books and i love a good laugh she recommended me the Undead series by Mary Janice Davidson and next thing I know I am collecting the books myself. This is my first Vampire series book.
Since I knew that my guilty pleasure is reading books and could not resist exiting a bookstore without a book on hand I made a book list which keeps getting longer, so one of things listed there are books number 7 and 8 of the Undead series.
I recently bought book # 7 Undead and Unworthy which has a new cover (if you are reading the US cover)and I'm really glad MJ Davidson wrote a disclaimer to its readers. I noticed that the book became more adult, more cursing from the characters and more gory than the previous books.
Another more are names of designer shoes who are very much in season (very good update for me). Sinclair for me is getting wiser as well as sexier. I think he is compensating to act more of a traditional King of the Vampire that we know because Queen Betsy isn't what old schools think of.
I am looking forward for more of their enemies, and more powers for our Queen as she discovers more about herself through the journey, more reason for us to wait for the other books.
If you want to read this book, I suggest you start with book 1, to appreciate the characters, the storyline and the development of the book.
This book I think is not your usual young adult book so parental guidance is recommended.
The 8th installment is already out Undead and Unwelcome, but I think I will wait for the paperback. For now, book #7 is Shelved with the others.

The Reading Challenge

At the start of the year there were two reading challenges I committed myself to The Goodreads Reading Challenge where you will decide how many books you can read for the year. The other one I got from my cousin but upon searching in Google it's a Popsugar Reading Challenge.  I must have underestimated my annual calendar because I challenged my self to red 50 books in Goodreads. I thought "50 books? Oh that's nothing, I have all the time in the world." And guess what? It's mid of November and here's my reading challenge. Apparently I didn't plan on being too busy during mid year but I'm not complaining I just didn't expect it to be like that. Still, I'm happy to I have read 25 books so far. And these are mostly YA books. What's with YA anyway? Am I old to be reading it? But that's another blog entry I suppose. I am happy to discover new authors that I will sure follow (Sarah Haas, Cassandra Rose Clarke) and the likes. With these 2...

How To Be Interesting So That Other Can Envy and Notice You

My whole 32 years of existence, ok, minus the toddler years where I don’t really care; I want to be wanted, desirable, likable and according to Google, to achieve this you must be interesting and as part of my research that’s why  I came across this book. I hunted for this book in the hope that I can get tips so I can be interesting. In the cover it says:   Rule # 1. One must be attractive .  – If you are such a good friend or sister you will tell your mates that its personality that wins. I agree, but for the others to notice you, you must be attractive or else they will not make that second look or  make an effort to get to know you thus you are not given the chance to showcase your great personality. So, yes, a nod to this rule #1. Rule #2. One must be friends with other attractive people – Ever heard of the saying “Tell me who your friends are and I tell you who you are”? Now that you’re attractive do not stop there and make friends ...

Rediscovering what sparks joy

Hi, if there's really anyone reading this blog. I kept this blog open more of a open diary and realized that writing is form of therapy for me. For all those bottled up feeling that I couldn't express. The last blog post I did was 2019 that I started a vlog in YouTube, sadly that vlog is no longer existing. I could make up excuses as to why but its really one complicated reason, which could be for another blog post. I was going to write that its been a year since I last posted but and then realized that its 2022 now, well it could be a year if we don't really count 2020.  Since moving to the States five years ago (2020 counted here), I was busy trying to make my family and I's life better, financially more or less, ok more so I was really busy with work and making more money. Unconsciously trying to fulfill the wants that I couldn't afford. In the process, I forgot what would make me happy. At the rise of tiktok I have discovered posts that intrigued my curiosity. I...
