My Surrender to E-books

Recession hit us in one way or another. For me I have to give up some of the things I used to always do One, is the Starbucks coffee, we all can agree that their coffee are warm and the aroma is inviting but they are so expensive too. So I have to look for alternative to suffice my morning energy boost, enter 7-11 coffee. Two, my daily solo cab going to work, well thanks to a neighbor which I just need to ask for a change shift so we can share the fare. And three, My monthly splurge on books. It has been years since I bought a book and I miss the smell of paper, the physical feeling of turning a page but I can not just give up on my love for fiction and love stories and the rill of mysteries, so I decided to surrender to e-books which I have vowed that I am not going to use, in support of my favorite authors.  There are several books I have read using Bluefire Apps. This is the first application I learned to use. I found a seller of e-books for 5php (ebookstories in instagram) s...

Book Marked

This past week I started reading again, I almost forgot how satisfied and happy I feel everytime I finishes a book. Lately I'm always assessing myself, What i really like to do? What I should do? What I need to do? and always I find myself thinking "reading" but I still try and pursue other hobbies and recreation or other things I wanted to do. So realizing I needed some catching up to do and in line with the book sales in the mall I devoured three books and I find myself in cloud nine. If shopping is a therapy for others, I say my therapy is reading, I forget all the things I should worry about and instead I create my own world (sometimes imagining myself in the book, ok, often times)where everything and I think needs is there. I am writing this because I realize that we should hold on to something that keeps us sane and makes us happy, sometime we see ourselves in situation where we became selfless and give up the things that makes us happy, but what if that some thing ...

My Book List

As you all know, weather here in PI (Philippines) is getting weirder and weirder, a minute ago it was sunny then another minute passed it's raining because of this, my healthy looking body caught a flu and resulted to a three-day-I have no choice but to be on Sick Leave days. Not that I'm complaining, sometimes it feels nice t take a legal SL and not some make-up sickness just to get off work. Anyway so while I'm resting and reading I thought of my booklist and realized that it's getting longer and I was buying books that were not on the list. So I reviewed them and maybe you can tell me something about it. Undead and Unworthy Undead and Unwelcome - Mary Janice Davidson Shopaholic Series (I'm looking for the original cover and not the movie cover) Remember Me Twenties Girl - Sophie Kinsella Masquerade - Melissa De la Cruz The Enchantress Of Florence - The Bride Will Keep Her Name - Jan Goldstein After Dark - Haruki Murakami Save Karyn Swapping Lives - Jane Green The...

Counting to Breaking Dawn

From my Archives Posted by me last Aug 4, '08 7:55 AM For People who has been talking to me these past few days, they know my object of obssession, the final book of the Twilight Saga, "Breaking Dawn" and at long last, my wait is over, from the time NIca introduced it to me, borrowed from her the second book, and finally bought the third book, not wanting to wait for others to finish the book so I can read it and then now my wait is over since I held the next book in my arms. I was anxious for the book, getting so excited by rereading the three books, appearing them in my dreams (Sorry, Nica, may ala Bella syndrome ata sya, para mapanaginipan) and hardly going to sleep just thinking of it. Hahaha, I was so excited that I was the first in line when the bookstore opened, well, second, because the first one is a ten year old girl from St. Paul. Once I got the copy, i opened the package and scan the pages of the book, sniff the smell of the paper and run my fingers on th...
