I have been a Rick Riordan fan since I saw Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief movie, I like the story in the movie but just as expected the book is way better so I read the whole series of Percy Jackson and The Olympians and decided to Rick Riordinside story an books. One because I have always been interested with the Gods. Back when I was in high school in World Literature I always find myself listening attentively to my teacher's inside story of the Gods. Two I like how Rick Riordan relate the Gods to modern times which I have mentioned when I blogged about Percy Jackson's book (click
here for a little back track). Three, the story is light but push you at the edge of your seat. The words used are simple and easily understood that makes the reading enjoyable and exciting.

The first two books of the Kane Chronicles |

The last installation in the series |
With this three book series of the Kane Chronicles the author used a style that has reader's participation, it is as if the Kanes are talking to us letting making us feel that we're part of the world that needs saving. Of course even outside the fictional world Mother Earth needs saving but that will be another topic. I like how the Kanes are talking to the reader letting them know what they did, will do and who are involved via the recordings they sent. As mentioned in the book (spolier alert) most Egyptian Gods are forgotten barely being flipped from the duat of the literary universe. So it is very good the Mr. Riordan wrote about these Gods of the first civilization so that his readers which is mostly composed of teens and some twenteens like me will be introduced to them. The series is action pascked, but I feel its a little similar to Harry Potter.
I think books like these are very educational but there is a disclaimer just like the Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons they were derived from the existing story we know so it is still best we go to our library and researched for the real ones or if you prefer modern day loo up start googling the Gods' names. But as Robert Langdon stated "Googling is not researching" and quoting someone which I read "Anyone can write on the internet but not anyone can write a book" so there, go old school sometimes kids, go to your library and search for the Gods mentioned like Nekhbet, Ra, Isis.
I am looking forward reading other books by Rick Riordan and I gladly share this with my cousins and happy that they are enjoying the pleasure of reading.
