Timeless Kiss

For the first day of August I chose to blog this book, well not really chose because it is way overdue already, finished reading it some time ago, but because of hectic schedule and sudden shift of my time, I wasn’t able to write about it. I came across this book because of Beastly, I watched the film first because (ok fine,I’ll admit it, I’m a Hudgens fan, what? What’s wrong with that?) then a friend of mine told me to read the Beastly book, so I did, but that will be another blog entry (hopefully). Just from the title I knew it was Sleeping Beauty’s story. “A Kiss in Time” who wouldn’t guess that? But I liked the fact that Alex Finn rewrote these classic fairy tales relived it in the modern times, how else are we going to relate to this? What I didn’t anticipate is our young heroine’s bratty character, well if you’re beautiful and a princess you couldn’t help but be that, besides nobody’s perfect. On the other hand our young lad in the story is different from the knight in shinin...

Divergent

Merriam Webster defines Divergent as... 1 a : divergiing from each other <divergent paths> b : differing from each other or from a standard divergent interests of capital and labor> 2 : relating to or being an infinite sequence that does not have a limit or an infinite series whose partial sums do not have a limit 3 : causing divergence of rays divergent lens> — di·ver·gent·ly adverb - ok the second one, I don't really have an idea what it means. But the first one makes sense when you read this latest book by Veronica Roth. My cousin lend me this book when I ranted in twitter that I need a book t read just so to keep me sane. (Low times, I need a book to think or be diverted). My first reaction to this is its like Hunger games. I tried reading Hunger games, I know a lot find it really nice, in fact Hunger Games is already a movie so I suppose it's a bestseller right? but I didn't finish it because well I didn't like it. (sorry fans). For starters I am ...

Fully Booked

"There is nothing more heavenly than a bookstore on sale" those were the phrase I tweeted when I didn't expect that the bookstore is on sale. I was merely looking for something to read, because I devoured all the pending books I have. Needless to say I had a panic buying situation when I was in the bookstore, and though paycheck is still not in I relayed on the little plastic that I have, (will remember to add that on my monthly dues). Unlike retail therapy or impulsive buying I didn't feel guilty afterwards, I was happy and can't wait to read them all. My only dilemma now is what to read first. All of them are in my book list that I can't wait to read. Two of the books not pictured is "A Kiss in Time" by Alex Finn and "Throne of Fire" by Rick Riordan, that I finished already and are in the list of borrowed books.

Angelic March to Chocolatey April

Angelic isn't the best way to describe "Angel's Game", well if you're thinking of the cliched Angels. Ever since my cousin let me read "Shadows of the Wind" I became a fan of Carlos Ruiz Zafon. I love his story telling style, how he creates a dark aura on the novel yet very descriptive that will let you travel in second world war Spain. For Angel's Game we encounter characters and places that we previously read in "Shadows of the Wind". What I like about it is, it is not the book we see on the stands today that there is a pre-requisite book that we need to read to be able to understand the nex t one. The books are not series books but a spin off from each other but is treated differently and individually so you don't have to read the other to be able to understand the other one. I would like to recommend the book for the rich vocabularies inside it and the history we somehow learn in school. Although it is a bit dragging at the sta...

Book Marked

This past week I started reading again, I almost forgot how satisfied and happy I feel everytime I finishes a book. Lately I'm always assessing myself, What i really like to do? What I should do? What I need to do? and always I find myself thinking "reading" but I still try and pursue other hobbies and recreation or other things I wanted to do. So realizing I needed some catching up to do and in line with the book sales in the mall I devoured three books and I find myself in cloud nine. If shopping is a therapy for others, I say my therapy is reading, I forget all the things I should worry about and instead I create my own world (sometimes imagining myself in the book, ok, often times)where everything and I think needs is there. I am writing this because I realize that we should hold on to something that keeps us sane and makes us happy, sometime we see ourselves in situation where we became selfless and give up the things that makes us happy, but what if that some thing ...
