Bored = Corned Beef Sandwich

I'm officially bored. I have updated every sites that I have, I have been posting to this blog almost everyday and I could not think of anything else to do while I am resting from my operation. I think today I have regained my appetite after several days of soft diet, and by appetite I mean BIG, so tonight just like my normal night I am looking for something to eat. A pre-midnight snack, so now you know why I had gallstones at 28.Since this morning, I have been craving for Jollibee, because there is a new branch that opened today which is just 5 minutes walk from our house, but sadly, I can not push myself to go outside and walk, and what's the point of having it delivered if you want to see the opening of a new food chain branch? But then our pantry is
empty, I do our groceries but since I was not fit for it in the last 7 days, I could not find something. So I went to Jollibee delivery website and selected the food I wanted to be delivered. And then I thought, they will ring our doorbell and my Mom will be awakened by the sound of it, because it's quite late, and I will not hear the end of it, of eating healthy food, so I did not dial nor clicked the delivery button. Instead I looked further and thank heavens my sister forgot a can of corned beef which she packed for UK.

Inside our fridge are lettuces from Baguio, thank you Tita Lyn for that, and a loaf of bread. Actually the first recipe I had in mind is corned beef carbonara, but that doesn't sound right, is it. I did asked from a fellow food lover and a good cook friend Jannesse. So I made myself a Corned Beef Sandwich.

Ingredients

Lettuce
Tomato
1 can corn beef (I omitted the brand because I believe it can be any corned beef)
Onions
Bread

Oh, com'on, you know what to do, usual saute corned beef with onions, toast the bread and make yourself a sandwich, ala The Sandwich Guy.

Not only have I satisfied my cravings, have saved money from a 300 php delivery.
Usually corned beef and pan de sal is good if paired with chokolate tablerya, for this, your favorite fruit juice or my fave Coke Light in my Coke glass

PS
I wonder if it's as delicious with corned tuna.
and
will post the brand if they'll pay me, LOL!

I came from a family who works abroad, halos lahat sila, actually konti na nga lang kami dito sa Pilipinas e. Anyway, back sa topic. My sister lives in UK been there for quite some time and she went here in the Philippines after 5 years and the first thing she asked me to do is Dial 8-7000 (singing: Jollibee Delivery). My Dad is in USA for, well, a very long time now and once in a awhile if there is a family friend visiting Philippines we will ask them to bring my dad several frozen tapa from the famous Maty's in PraƱaque which is in a microwavable container. Filipinos can endure the work and long hours abroad but they can't really resist not to look for Filipino food. I remembered my cousin who's in Singapore she was telling us how she craved for ric...

The Son of Neptune

I loved Percy Jackson from the moment I watched it until the last page of The Last Olympian so it is no surprise that I patiently awaits another book that will have Percy Jackson in it. I read the first book The Lost Hero but quite disappointed that Percy is missing, that's why I'm excited with the second book which most probably star Percy, well who could be Neptune's Son right? probably Tyson? Love the cover too. Will be available on October 4, 2011 To read the first chapter click here
