The day I saw the LIGHT

I never thought I'd see this lightAfter several back pain, stomach pain, trip to the toilet and trip to the doctors, I finally found out that I have gallstones. First of, how do you get stones in your gallbladder? doctors said they have 3 F's for this, female, fat and forty, so two checks for me but it'll be over 10 years before I'll be 40. And when that time comes, I'll be using Olay. LOL.
Okay back to getting gallstones, if you eat too much salty and fatty food and of course hereditary. So yes, my Dad had an operation because of gallstones as well as my uncle, aunt and a cousin whose stones were detected earlier so he doesn't need to go through an operation. Plus I have my own guilty feeling about fatty food.
As the day gets nearer to my schedule of operation, I pray that I will not feel a thing once I am in the operating room, because the thought of going in to the operating room, pulls my blood pressure to the line, all the more the sight of it. True enough before I thought of Zac Efron and Marc Gasol, yes, so that I can calm myself and to divert my mind off the operation, I thought of this gorgeous men. No offense BF but I really need for my mind to be creative and be busy. So true enough, before I was calm I heard the nurse say 140/100, that was my blood pressure, of course, I was freaking out inside.
They say Filipinos loves to laugh and would find something funny to even the most difficult situations and maybe that is true. So while I was trying to calm myself, Zac Efron and Marc did not do the trick but they were a big help. I spoke to the nurses. "Ate, para naman 'tong scene sa horror movie" (Ate, this is like a scene from a horror movie) Can you imagine the scene in all horror movies with hospital in it, where all you see are the lights, the camera is tilted up and its moving, then you'll here the door opening and you'll see the operating theater light. The big circle light, look at the top of this blog. Finally, the last thing I remembered was saying good morning to my doctor and then black.
I wanted to show you my gallstones here, but that would be gross, isn't it. I'll just give you an idea. It's black, they placed it in a bottle where you can shake it and it really sounds like a stone, the size of a rock on Katy Perry's engagement ring, if only I could make a ring out of it too.

Holy Bummin' Week

While others are out of town relaxing in a rest house somewhere, or swimming mostly in the south, I spent my holy week mostly at work and home alone in our house. My Mom went to Bicol and spent the Holy Week there while also preparing for the 80th Birthday of my Lola on June. From Monday to Thursday here was my schedule, water the plants before I even put my bag down, feed the cat, mop the floor, wash the dishes, play with my 9 months old niece and go to sleep until 8pm. At 8pm, prepare my baon for work, browse net and check facebook, then take a bath and go to work and same thing again the next day, pretty boring huh? but Friday to Sunday was different. I avail of our VTO (Volountary Timed Out) well the whole Friday I slept like I will not sleep again, play LAN games in the computer until 4am and I was too lazy to prepare something for breakfast because by this time I was really hungry since i slept the whole day, so what else should I do but dial the ever reliable Dial 8-MCDO. ...

The Reading Challenge

At the start of the year there were two reading challenges I committed myself to The Goodreads Reading Challenge where you will decide how many books you can read for the year. The other one I got from my cousin but upon searching in Google it's a Popsugar Reading Challenge.  I must have underestimated my annual calendar because I challenged my self to red 50 books in Goodreads. I thought "50 books? Oh that's nothing, I have all the time in the world." And guess what? It's mid of November and here's my reading challenge. Apparently I didn't plan on being too busy during mid year but I'm not complaining I just didn't expect it to be like that. Still, I'm happy to I have read 25 books so far. And these are mostly YA books. What's with YA anyway? Am I old to be reading it? But that's another blog entry I suppose. I am happy to discover new authors that I will sure follow (Sarah Haas, Cassandra Rose Clarke) and the likes. With these 2...

He Can't face the Music

An English phrase was born through a Chinese story, you might be wondering how is that? So the story goes… Once there was an Emperor who loves music, he so loved it he organized a Royal Orchestra. The flutist of the Royal orchestra doesn’t really know how to play the flute, he just blows the instrument but no music was coming out of the flute, but he the benefits for being in the Royal orchestra, lodging, first class treatment and food fit for a King. One Day the King asked each musician to play for him, the Flutist said he was sick at the night of the performance, so the King send his Royal Physician to check the flutist, and the Physician reported that the Flutist was not sick. When the King ordered for the Flutist to be captured, the Physician told the Royal Guards… "The Impostor Can’t Face The Music" I chose to write about this because even the story is old, it is still applicable in the modern world. There are impostors, pretenders whatever we call them, but when confron...
