The Sampaguita Lesson

I don't know how to start this blog without shedding a tear, yes you read that right, a tear, I'm not the usual emotional, cry-ish person who can be touched easily, I remember one time i laughed hard when my sister went home from her hospital shift crying because her patients gave her gifts to show their appreciation to her at how caring she is. (Crying, sniffing, afraid that my Mom will see me) This morning after buying all the stuffs my Mom listed for me to buy in the market, I saw an old lady who can replace Quasimodo as the hunchback with glasses so thick that looks heavy that falls on her nose but can't fix it on place because her hand is full of Sampaguita that she sells. It just hit me right away, as if my heart was touched by an Angel, I turned back my step which was in a hurry to got home and sit in front of my computer. I bought the 5 pcs for 10 php Sampaguita but gave 20 php and told her to keep the change. Gelay: Keep the Change Lola Lola: Ha? Gelay: Sa inyo na

It's Driving Me Crazy

I have prepared several topics to blog, even clean it for pictorial but once i set myself infront of the computer I can't seem to get my eyes and hands off the mouse. It seems there is something that keeps me drawn to it. I started with Pet Society and was hooked to it until now, then, I learned about Yoville and played it 'til morning until I finally understood how the game works and what do I do, then an invite for Farm Town and again, played it until my coins are no more from buying seeds and trees. I just can't seem to get enough of the Facebook applications and I can't do anything anymore. I can't read email, sometime, I even forget to log in to my YM account which I normally do first when I sit in front of the PC. But now I realize, I better manage my time and include the few hours at home excluding the sleeping time and my phone hellos to my BF. I feel pressured most of the times when I see that a buddy is getting close to my score and I get inspired to do my

Holy Bummin' Week

While others are out of town relaxing in a rest house somewhere, or swimming mostly in the south, I spent my holy week mostly at work and home alone in our house. My Mom went to Bicol and spent the Holy Week there while also preparing for the 80th Birthday of my Lola on June. From Monday to Thursday here was my schedule, water the plants before I even put my bag down, feed the cat, mop the floor, wash the dishes, play with my 9 months old niece and go to sleep until 8pm. At 8pm, prepare my baon for work, browse net and check facebook, then take a bath and go to work and same thing again the next day, pretty boring huh? but Friday to Sunday was different. I avail of our VTO (Volountary Timed Out) well the whole Friday I slept like I will not sleep again, play LAN games in the computer until 4am and I was too lazy to prepare something for breakfast because by this time I was really hungry since i slept the whole day, so what else should I do but dial the ever reliable Dial 8-MCDO.

My Pot of Gold

At the End of the Rainbow there's a pot of Gold, and I've found mine after years of hunting and waiting. I know a lot of bloggers have blogged about this, how heavenly they tasted and how they crave for more, but I just want to share the reason why I bought the ice cream and why I am blogging about this… When I was a kid, since my Dad likes English movies, I was exposed to Hollywood movies, I would cover my eyes if there’s a kissing scene or learn a few English bad words but I can not forget how they depict that ice cream is a good comfort food which I learned when I grew a little older that it was a great comfort food, but since I was a kid I would wish that I can eat ice cream the way Hollywood stars eat their ice cream in the movies. From the dark covered pint cup, with their silver spoon digging to the creamy and tasty ice cream that waters in their mouth that would always make their eyes close savoring the flavor. I don’t know with others but we eat our ice cream in

Book Shopping

It has been months since I crossed out books that I’d like to buy from the short list I have in my hard earned Starbucks Planner (grin). I have been eyeing this book since January but was waiting for the bookstore to have new stock since the book’s cover was not as new as I would expect it to be, well new for the regular price of 339 php. Thanks to my cousin Nica who put up a small business of selling second hand book via Multiply ( http://booksoverbros.multiply.com ) that I was able to buy the book I have been eyeing for 160php, which is still in good condition and the bonus is, it wasn’t the paperback issue I saw in the bookstore but the first published copy which originally cost 660 php if I bought it in the bookstore. It was great having her put up this business, books became arms reached for me plus it wasn’t just books, but titles some of us are eyeing or collecting so I was really thrilled when I saw her business multiply page and recommended it to my workplace seatmate since
