Holy Bummin' Week

While others are out of town relaxing in a rest house somewhere, or swimming mostly in the south, I spent my holy week mostly at work and home alone in our house. My Mom went to Bicol and spent the Holy Week there while also preparing for the 80th Birthday of my Lola on June. From Monday to Thursday here was my schedule, water the plants before I even put my bag down, feed the cat, mop the floor, wash the dishes, play with my 9 months old niece and go to sleep until 8pm. At 8pm, prepare my baon for work, browse net and check facebook, then take a bath and go to work and same thing again the next day, pretty boring huh? but Friday to Sunday was different. I avail of our VTO (Volountary Timed Out) well the whole Friday I slept like I will not sleep again, play LAN games in the computer until 4am and I was too lazy to prepare something for breakfast because by this time I was really hungry since i slept the whole day, so what else should I do but dial the ever reliable Dial 8-MCDO. I felt like I was a complete bum having to dial delivery when in fact my Mom stocked the fridge with food that I'll just cook. I ate, (hold your breath) sausage mcmuffin meal, two hash browns, and longganisa meal, (there goes my diet,2 weeks of not eating rice, brushed off with one breakfast meal). But then, i just don't want to move around and enjoy the liberty of doing so, because come Monday my Mom will be back and there will be constant reminder of losing weight, the normal working days and back to not eating rice. Happy Easter to y'all and hoped that everyone had a relaxing week off and an enjoyable bumming moment like me.

Home is where the Heart is

You can take the Pinoy out of the Philippines but, you can't take the Philippines out of the Pinoy. In the case, food... - Nicanor David Jr. from "Kwentong Tambay", 2006 Ah this one is true, I've heard of it. I came from a family who works abroad, halos lahat sila, actually konti na nga lang kami dito sa Pilipinas e. Anyway, back sa topic. My sister lives in UK been there for quite some time and she went here in the Philippines after 5 years and the first thing she asked me to do is Dial 8-7000 (singing: Jollibee Delivery). My Dad is in USA for, well, a very long time now and once in a awhile if there is a family friend visiting Philippines we will ask them to bring my dad several frozen tapa from the famous Maty's in Prañaque which is in a microwavable container. Filipinos can endure the work and long hours abroad but they can't really resist not to look for Filipino food. I remembered my cousin who's in Singapore she was telling us how she craved for ric...

The Reading Challenge

At the start of the year there were two reading challenges I committed myself to The Goodreads Reading Challenge where you will decide how many books you can read for the year. The other one I got from my cousin but upon searching in Google it's a Popsugar Reading Challenge.  I must have underestimated my annual calendar because I challenged my self to red 50 books in Goodreads. I thought "50 books? Oh that's nothing, I have all the time in the world." And guess what? It's mid of November and here's my reading challenge. Apparently I didn't plan on being too busy during mid year but I'm not complaining I just didn't expect it to be like that. Still, I'm happy to I have read 25 books so far. And these are mostly YA books. What's with YA anyway? Am I old to be reading it? But that's another blog entry I suppose. I am happy to discover new authors that I will sure follow (Sarah Haas, Cassandra Rose Clarke) and the likes. With these 2...

Weird of the weird

As you know, reading is the thing I love most and I can say things I know, like bits of trivia that I suddenly blurt out comes from the things I read, so there's a big chance that I dreamed of them as well. You know I'd like to dream about the handsome leading man in my Chic-lit books, or be the witty heroine from the magical world I once in a while read. But what are the odds of dreaming about a vampire. Nope. Not Edward Cullen but, traditional vampire, the blood sucking cruel creature we know. From my dream, he chased me, someone I know became a vampire and I really look succulent in his eyes so he attacked me and pin me down to suck the blood out of me,but not in the neck and looks sexy just like in the movies, no, he sucked my blood through my stomach, and I wonder if Vampire ever get High blood pressure, there were lots of fats from my belly. If you think that's th e weirdest of things, the next day I dreamt of a chimaera, a mythical creature who has a lion's head,...
