My Pot of Gold

At the End of the Rainbow there's a pot of Gold, and I've found mine after years of hunting and waiting.

I know a lot of bloggers have blogged about this, how heavenly they tasted and how they crave for more, but I just want to share the reason why I bought the ice cream and why I am blogging about this…

When I was a kid, since my Dad likes English movies, I was exposed to Hollywood movies, I would cover my eyes if there’s a kissing scene or learn a few English bad words but I can not forget how they depict that ice cream is a good comfort food which I learned when I grew a little older that it was a great comfort food, but since I was a kid I would wish that I can eat ice cream the way Hollywood stars eat their ice cream in the movies. From the dark covered pint cup, with their silver spoon digging to the creamy and tasty ice cream that waters in their mouth that would always make their eyes close savoring the flavor. I don’t know with others but we eat our ice cream in a cup that scooped from a half gallon container that I share with my family.

So when I saw the TV ad of Selecta Gold Ice Cream, inside me is my childhood remembering how these Hollywood stars eat from the pint ice cream while sobbing infront of their TV set watching “An Affair to Remember” (Hmm sounds familiar?).

And since I don’t have to ask my parents to buy me an ice cream, I bought one for myself and one for my mom (my turn to buy her ice cream). And just like the Hollywood movies, I ate mine infront of the TV set while enjoying a movie, closing my eyes as the ice cream melts in my mouth bursting with flavor and creaminess.

The Reading Challenge

At the start of the year there were two reading challenges I committed myself to The Goodreads Reading Challenge where you will decide how many books you can read for the year. The other one I got from my cousin but upon searching in Google it's a Popsugar Reading Challenge.  I must have underestimated my annual calendar because I challenged my self to red 50 books in Goodreads. I thought "50 books? Oh that's nothing, I have all the time in the world." And guess what? It's mid of November and here's my reading challenge. Apparently I didn't plan on being too busy during mid year but I'm not complaining I just didn't expect it to be like that. Still, I'm happy to I have read 25 books so far. And these are mostly YA books. What's with YA anyway? Am I old to be reading it? But that's another blog entry I suppose. I am happy to discover new authors that I will sure follow (Sarah Haas, Cassandra Rose Clarke) and the likes. With these 2...

Home is where the Heart is

You can take the Pinoy out of the Philippines but, you can't take the Philippines out of the Pinoy. In the case, food... - Nicanor David Jr. from "Kwentong Tambay", 2006 Ah this one is true, I've heard of it. I came from a family who works abroad, halos lahat sila, actually konti na nga lang kami dito sa Pilipinas e. Anyway, back sa topic. My sister lives in UK been there for quite some time and she went here in the Philippines after 5 years and the first thing she asked me to do is Dial 8-7000 (singing: Jollibee Delivery). My Dad is in USA for, well, a very long time now and once in a awhile if there is a family friend visiting Philippines we will ask them to bring my dad several frozen tapa from the famous Maty's in Prañaque which is in a microwavable container. Filipinos can endure the work and long hours abroad but they can't really resist not to look for Filipino food. I remembered my cousin who's in Singapore she was telling us how she craved for ric...

The Year that was

By Now I think everyone had enough of the New Year, New Me post don't worry I will try my hardest not to do that here. Instead I would like to recap a little on the year that was.  2016, whew, insert hand swiping my forehead here. Let's see, how many time did you sing Closer by Chainsmokers? What was your favorite movie? I like Civil War but Suicide Squad gave me a fun memory. What was your biggest project completed? First and foremost my theme song for 2016 is "Thank you for the broken heart" by J. Rice. If you're reading my previous posts, well, thank you, but it doesn't take a genius to know that I had a heartbreak but I have to thank it because it opened a lot of doors for me. It wasn't a bitter break-up but just as others, it was sad. It happened at the start of the year which I think was good because it gave me a chance to revisit my goal for the year and what I really wanted.  So drum roll please... On door no. 1, I had a chance to reconnect...
